Letting your life be governed by others
There is something intriguing about the way experiences you have can shape the way you live. Throughout our lives, so many things can happen that can mar or otherwise distract from the way that you make choices or decide to go in a particular direction.
Sometimes, because the desire to please or the simple need for acceptance can be great, it can be really easy to start jumping through hoops to keep people pleased and satisfied with your choices. Only to find as you go on throughout life, that succeeding at this task 100% of the time simply is not possible.
So what do you do? You can ignore what people think, what they say and commonly help beliefs that can be passed from generation to generation, that seek to constrain you rather than free you. Or you can succumb to the pressure, failing to recognize the power in your own abilities.
It can be a difficult to balance all of the considerations, but the real decision comes when you start to realize that there isn’t a point in trying to satisfy people who don’t value you and your life. Folks are always going to live and do what’s best for them, to try to get an edge and do whatever they can to manipulate situations to their own advantage — or to milk something for as long as possible.
Life becomes so much better when you decide to pursue your own passions as fully as you can, to make choices to share life with those who are committed to you and your success and you theirs.
